Program Overview
Surface water exists on the surface of the earth's crust and is exposed to the atmosphere. It is the general name of four kinds of water bodies: rivers, glaciers, lakes and marshes. Surface water is accumulated by natural precipitation and snowfall over the years, and is naturally lost to the ocean or dissipated by evaporation, as well as seeping into the ground.
According to the environmental functions and protection objectives of surface waters, they are divided into five categories in order of function.
Category Ⅰ Mainly applicable to source waters, national nature reserves.
Class Ⅱ Mainly applicable to centralized surface water sources of living drinking water primary protection zone, rare aquatic habitats, fish and shrimp spawning grounds, and baiting grounds for young and juvenile fish.
Category Ⅲ Mainly applicable to secondary protected areas of surface water sources of centralized living drinking water, fish and shrimp overwintering grounds, migratory channels, aquaculture areas and other fisheries waters and swimming areas.
Class Ⅳ Mainly applicable to general industrial water use areas and recreational water use areas where the human body does not come into direct contact.
Category V Mainly applicable to agricultural water use areas and general landscape requirements waters.
Corresponding to the above five categories of surface water function, the basic items of surface water environmental quality standards are divided into five categories, and different functional categories are implemented in the corresponding categories of standard values. The standard value of the high water function category is stricter than the standard value of the low water function category. The same water has more than one type of use function, the implementation of the highest functional category corresponding to the standard value. To achieve the function of the waters and meet the standards of functional categories for the same meaning.
Surface water environmental quality automatic monitoring system automatically collects water quality monitoring data, real-time monitoring of section water quality, remote monitoring of water station operation, timely warning of water quality abnormalities, which helps the environmental monitoring department to timely and accurately grasp the water quality of surface water bodies and dynamic trends, to solve cross-border pollution disputes, pollution accidents early warning, and management and protection of water resources to provide a scientific basis.
