Yosemitech Y5000 Water Quality Monitoring Buoy is specially developed for the field of surface water monitoring, with low center of gravity, PE shell, EVA filling, and embedded screw fixation, making the schedule operation more stable.

Our Water Buoy consists of a cross-linked ethylene vinyl acetate foam hull with tough coatings. A 45W solar panel is mounted on the top of the buoy to charge the battery pack inside the buoy which provides continuous power to data logger, communication module,  and sensors. Stainless steel ring provides protection and lifting rigs for quick and easy deployment. The data buoy can be moored to the river or lake bottom via anchor chains.

customer case: Aquaculture water monitoring

Application

Water quality monitoring buoys are floating platforms equipped with sensors and instruments designed to collect data on various parameters of water quality. These buoys are deployed in lakes, rivers, oceans, and other water bodies to monitor conditions such as temperature, pH levels, salinity, turbidity, dissolved oxygen, and the presence of contaminants like heavy metals, nutrients, and pathogens. The application of water quality monitoring buoys serves several important purposes:

Environmental Monitoring: Buoys help in understanding the health of aquatic ecosystems by providing real-time data on water quality parameters. This information is crucial for environmental management and conservation efforts.

Early Warning Systems: By continuously monitoring water quality, buoys can detect sudden changes that may indicate pollution events or harmful algal blooms. This allows for timely response to prevent environmental damage and protect public health.

Scientific Research: The data collected by buoys contribute to scientific studies on climate change, eutrophication, water pollution, and other environmental issues. Researchers use this information to develop models and strategies for water resource management.

Regulatory Compliance: Water quality monitoring helps in ensuring that bodies of water meet the standards set by environmental regulations. Buoys can provide the necessary data to demonstrate compliance with these regulations.

Public Health: Water quality data is essential for ensuring that drinking water supplies and recreational waters are safe. Monitoring buoys can detect contaminants that pose health risks, allowing for immediate action to protect the public.

Agriculture and Aquaculture: In areas where water is used for irrigation or aquaculture, monitoring buoys can help farmers and fishers manage their operations more effectively by providing data on water conditions that affect crop and fish health.

Infrastructure Management: For industries and municipalities that discharge wastewater into natural water bodies, monitoring buoys can help ensure that treatment processes are effective and that discharges meet regulatory standards.

Disaster Response: In the event of natural disasters such as oil spills, floods, or hurricanes, buoys can provide critical information on the extent of water contamination and guide cleanup and recovery efforts.

Climate Change Research: Buoys can track long-term trends in water quality parameters, which can provide insights into the impacts of climate change on aquatic ecosystems.

Educational and Outreach Programs: The data collected by buoys can be used in educational programs to raise awareness about water quality issues and the importance of protecting water resources.
